When whole countries are on a lock-down and you can’t travel overseas or go on a cruise, when Canada cancels hockey and Costco is out of toilet paper, when schools close and your company tells you to work from home, when your neighbour is afraid to shake hands with you and your other neighbour is hoarding sani-wipes to resell them on Amazon, when you get chastised for wearing “I ♥ Canadian Oil and Gas” t-shirt, when the 10-year government bond pays less than 1% and major stock indices swing thousands points a day and lose 30% in a week, it is hard for an individual not to get confused and depressed, believing that the world, as we know it, is coming to an end.
The word "individual" means non-divisible, and individual rights is a great achievement of the Western civilization, which took centuries to perfect. We enjoy our individualism, but in times like these more that ever we feel our dependence on other people and more than ever our actions affect their lives. In our hearts we know that the right thing to do, is to make the madness stop with us here and now.
This too shall pass. As Woody Allen says in Hannah and Her Sisters, “the heart is a very resilient little muscle”. And here at Breathe Spa we know a thing or two about muscles. As always, we are open 7 days a week and open late to accommodate your busy schedule. Massage and lymphatic drainage do wonders strengthening your immune system and making you feel better about the world and yourself. Try it. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.
And this “new” thing about washing your hands, we, massage therapists, have been trained in that from the beginning. At every opportunity we wash our hands with disinfectant soap slowly and deliberately each finger and between the fingers, and the dorsal side and the palmar side, and up to the elbow and down to the finger tips, anyway, you get the picture. And we launder our massage linens after every use.
Give your immune system a boost and take the stress out of your tired muscles. Go online to www.breathespa.ca or call us at 403-457-3060 and make an appointment.
