In Western massage when we need to concentrate a large force on a small area of the muscle, we usually apply a reinforced thumb. This works well when we do friction to rub out scar tissue or an adhesion in a muscle. But friction hurts and often leaves a bruise. Maybe, just maybe using meat cleavers is the answer.
